The Military Moves Away from Professionalism

Bradley Thayer, director China Policy programs for the Center for Security Policy, tells Natalie Winters that the U.S. military and the Israeli defense forces face major problems, as evidenced by the withdrawal from Afghanistan. During the Cold War, the military policed itself and, under civilian leadership, dealt with America's threats, including the Soviet Union and communist China. "That has been eroding under the Biden administration," Thayer said.
